The staff are helpful and will cook breakfast on request.

The staff are helpful and will cook breakfast on request. There is tea and coffee available and purified water. It’s a walkable distance from town so quiet as well. Also they will book tours for you which were great.

It’s just needs a good clean. The water that comes out the taps is yellow. We couldn’t find the rooms in the pictures. The drains smell. No WiFi. The sink didn’t drain often. The pillows inside the cases were mouldy. The ceiling and sheets showed signs of mould.

We stayed at the hotel for one night because we entered the middle of the night, but we moved to a more comfortable hotel in the morning. Comfortable bed.

the hotel looks sad, the bathroom is very sad, the water is running out.

Very disappointing 4 night stay

Nothing

Booked two double rooms and upon arrival only had one double room available. Put the other two guests in a 5 bed dormitory room. Rooms were really dusty and dirty and power kept cutting out every hour, toilet seat wasn’t even attached to the toilet and rooms wern’t made up or cleaned once during a 4 night stay. Would never stay here again or recommend anyone to stay there

Comfortable and cheap!

Comfortable room and private bathroom with hot water! Suitable for last minute booking and for solo travelers. Staff gave us an extra hour to check out for free.

The shower door was broken along with the toilet seat cover.

What was the highlight of Lualhati Cottage

Diving base or good alround backpacking hostel in beautiful El Nido

Nice place. Clean room with warm showers. Free water from a dispenser. Their main thing is diving but since we don't dive we can't really comment on that. They can accomodate most backpacker wishes, however - we booked tours, scooters and the Coron ferry through them.

No complaints really.

Lady owner is not a ogre, excellent WIFI for Philippines standards

We almost did not stay here as the feedbacks were pretty poor. However, we took the gamble (price driven) and found much of the feedback to be unfair. The lady owner was absolutely fine, friendly, helpful and did everything possible to make our 5 day stay a pleasant one. The WIFI was very good for Philippines standards and if you get Room D upstairs you get WIFI in the room too. El Nido was the most touristic place we stayed in our 3 month trip to the Philippines and full of holiday makers not just the travellers. Perhaps the feedback owners, "i saw a cockroach, did not like mozzies, the bathroom smelt" need to get a life and realise where they are!! This is the Philippines not the Ritz in London.

Having defended the previous feedback vigorously, there is a few things they could do to improve. The bins only seem to get emptied once a day despite always having about 3 to 5 staff members sat around watching TV or on the phones in reception. For a few hours work a lick of paint might be a few Pesos well spent.

Room is worth half the price.

The staff was kind, allowed to keep the bags inside until check-in time, near to city center, the water was warm

Room was dark, very old furniture, there were no towels, toilet paper, no shampoo or soap, people were talking outside just near the room window from 6am and frying fish, from 7am construction near by started

Good location but no room service

Very close to the city center (5 min walk) and not much noisy. Rooms with private bathrooms, nice view and large windows.

We stayed for a week and haven’t had our room cleaned once. The bathroom floor was always wet because the sink was leaking. In the shower there were two hoes - one with boiling hot water and the other one with ice cold water (nothing in between). Can’t really recommend this place.

Booked this place although reviews weren't great but...

Booked this place although reviews weren't great but some were saying how welcoming the staff were so thought I'd stay for atmosphere and budget. However, I didn't find the staff friendly at all they never spoke to me. Upon check in (saw earlier in reviews someone also put this) they seemed surprised we were arriving. Room was ok I guess beds were comfy enough but strong scent of pee in the room wasn't ideal.

Staff weren't helpful or approachable so chose to find out info and book all tours without them. Didn't bother having breakfast here either found a really nice place short walk away. Was terribly noisy here lots of banging on my door and roof throughout the night someone even tried getting into my room one night. Shower didn't work at all so just used buckets which was fine. Aircon and fan didn't work at all.
